London, 22 July 2006 (Iran Terror) – A senior official of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI), the main opposition to the religious theocracy ruling Iran, has shed light on a terrorist bombing in June of a passenger bus full of Iraqi workers heading to the group’s base Camp Ashraf, north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

The Persian-language opposition satellite channel Simaye Azadi quoted Mr. Mehdi Baraei as saying: Residents of various towns in Diyala Province, particularly those from towns and villages close to Camp Ashraf, who were outraged following the criminal bombing of a city bus carrying noble Iraqi workers by agents of the mullahs’ regime, visited Camp Ashraf to express condolences and sympathy. There they gave detailed and precise information to the PMOI regarding this terrorist crime.

This terrorist crime was carried out on the orders of the clerical regime by its mercenaries known as 9th Badr Brigade who left a white car – vehicle type: Vauxhall (Opel) – on the main road between the apartment blocks and the site of the explosion. An individual identified as Saadoun from the village of Jeizanni and another mercenary of the mullahs’ regime identified as Fazel Abbass Mahdawi were informed about the specifics of the criminal operation. A fatwa (or religious decree) was given by the clerics ruling Iran to justify the bombing of all those who work with the Mojahedin. Three agents from the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps’ 9th Badr Brigade carried out the bombing on the city bus route which left 12 innocent Iraqi workers martyred and 15 others injured. The three agents’ names and particulars were provided to the Multi-National Force – Iraq (MNF-I) and Iraqi officials.
