ImageIn an interview with France’s Arte Television on September 27, 2005, Emmanuel Ludot, one of Saddam Hussein’s lawyers said: “I want to reveal the details of a private conversation I had, although I know it may cost me dearly.

“I was invited to the Iranian embassy in France by the Iranian ambassador. The first question he asked me was ’how is Saddam Hussein? We, Iranians are worried about his health.’

“At first it was hard for me to believe it and it surprised me tremendously. Then, the ambassador said lets agree on one thing.
“We will say that Saddam Hussein didn’t gas the Kurds and you say that the Iranians didn’t do it either. We will give you a document which will prove that the People’s Mojahedin did it. We will therefore agree on one criminal together, who will be the People’s Mojahedin. This will save both Iran and Iraq’s reputations. What do you think?”

Ludot continued: “I have reports which prove that the Gas used in the bombings was Iranian and American specialists have also said that the Iranian regime did it.”
